KINNAUR KAILASH YATRA 2026 – IMPORTANT PUBLIC NOTICE

This is to inform all devotees and intending pilgrims that the Kinnaur Kailash Yatra 2026 has been postponed until further orders by the District Administration, Kinnaur, in the interest of public safety.
A special reconnaissance (recce) team, constituted to inspect the pilgrimage route, has reported several serious natural hazards along the route. These include the presence of glaciers, unstable boulders, continuous risk of rockfall, landslides, and falling debris due to rising temperatures and melting snow. The route between Gufa and Sorang has been blocked by large unstable boulders, while the stretch from Miling Khata to the Holy Cave has been found to be particularly dangerous for pilgrims.
Considering these safety concerns and to ensure the well-being of all devotees, rescue personnel, and support teams, the District Administration has decided to postpone the Kinnaur Kailash Yatra 2026 until further orders.
All devotees are requested not to undertake the pilgrimage until an official announcement regarding the resumption of the yatra is issued by the District Administration. Your cooperation and understanding are sincerely appreciated.
