The Department of Youth Services and Sports was created during 1982-83 with an objective of involving youth in the task of National re-construction and to harness their energy towards eradication of social evils.

Mobile Coaching Camp:-

A ten days mobile coaching camp for all games organize by deptt. of Youth Services & Sports for beginners. In this camp free coaching facility and refreshment of Rs, 20/- per head per day is provided. These camps are organized in off season (April to July).

Regular Coaching Camp:-

A ten days regular coaching camp is organized especially before Distt./State/National competition in all sports events. In these camps Rs, 120/- per head per day is provided as daily allowance and selected players are provided free high level coaching facilities through coaches.

Block/Distt. Level Youth Festival:-

Block/Distt. Level Youth Festival is organized for youths between the age group of 15 years to 28 years. Events like Folk Dance, Group Folk Song, Traditional Instrumental Music competition classical events and play organized. Block Level winners will participate in Distt. Competitions and Distt. Level winners will represent Distt. in State Youth Festival. Aim behind these type of organizations/Program is to preserve our culture and traditions.

Tracking Program:-

Tracking Programes for amateur youths organize by the department time to time in State/District level.

Run permanent coaching Centers:-

Coaching centers are run by the department in the District through department coaches in all sports events. In these coaching centers modern coaching facilities and free equipment are provided to the players. The schedule of timings of coaching is generally morning and evening. All interested young sports persons can join in these sports coaching centers free of cost in any age category.

Organization of work camp:-

A work camp for youths are organize in Block/Distt. Level especially plantation of trees repair of village paths, Tanks, Sanitation of Paths etc. Aim behind these social work is to engage youths in social activities not to indulge in any antisocial activities.

Sports organization/Tournaments:-

Department organize different sports events like central Govt. sponsor i.e. Khelo India Khelo, women sports in block to State Level in different age groups. Aim behind these sports events is to search/hunt talents in rural/hidden areas and induct in sports hostels and get medals in Olympics/International Level.

Nodal Club Scheme :-

Under Nodal Club scheme one best clubs from each block in Distt. is selected for two years period. For Nodal Clubs a budget of Rs, 35000/-( Rupees thirty five thousand only) is provided to the purchase of Sports/Musical Instruments and one Youth Volunteer is also selected from each block to assist Nodal Club/Clubs to implement/Organize Sports/Cultural events. The Volunteers are paid honorarium of Rs, 3000/- (Rupees three thousand only) per months besides TA/DA. The office volunteer engage with computer as data operator is paid honorarium of Rs, 6000/- (Rupees six thousand only).

Computer Training Course:-

Department of Youth Services & Sports run computer courses for youths for one year diploma courses both boys & girls from recognized institutions. Department bears registration fee, monthly honorarium of Rs, 1500/- (Rupees one thousand five hundred only) each for one year.

Youth Day/Week Program :-

Department organize Youth Day/Week Program in the memory of Sh. Swami Viveka Nand Ji’s Birth anniversary between 12 January to 19 January 2018
every year.

Construction of Stadiums/ Playground/ Infrastructure:-

Departmental aim is to construct stadiums/Playgrounds and establish sports Infrastructure in State/Distt./Block/Village Level so the players can be trained under modern facilities to compete in International Arena and win medals in International Level. Outdoor and Indoor stadiums are being constructed in all over H.P. State.
